DELIVERY OF YOUR FLOOR
Fantastic, you’ve chosen the perfect Ted Todd floor for your home. What’s next? We have listed some top tips for a smooth delivery once you have finalised your purchase through your chosen retailer.
DRY STORE It sounds simple, but please organise a dry indoor area ready to store your floor and ensure that the building that you are storing your floor in is enclosed. A hallway or living room is perfect. ACCLIMATISE It’s a bit of a misconception that wood floors need to acclimatise for weeks. We recommend that our floors are acclimatised in their packs for 2 to 3 days in the room that they are to be installed. If you are installing your floor over underfloor heating, please allow 5 days for acclimatisation. HOME CONDITIONS Ensure that your home is maintained at normal living conditions at a temperature of 15 to 21°C and a humidity level of 45 to 65°C. HEATING IN USE Permanent heating or air conditioning systems should be operating for at least 7 days preceding installation to promote proper acclimatisation. See page 158 for details on underfloor heating.
CHECK YOUR FLOOR While we recommend that you do not take all of the flooring out of the packs until you are ready to install your floor, it is still important to check that you are happy with your floor before installation. To do this, check one or two packs of the flooring upon delivery, and once you are happy you should then wrap the flooring up again in the same packaging. Remember, wood is a natural product so some tonal and grain variation should be expected. OUR WARRANTY We have always believed in making floors that stand the test of time.
