Case Study - Ritu London

Located in the affluent and leafy north-west London suburb of St John’s wood, Ritu’s is a new Indian restaurant inspired by the Hindu calendar. Unlike traditional Western climates, India has 6 seasons all of which are reflected in the culinary experience, menu offering, and the venue's interior design at Ritu.

PROJECT OVERVIEW London-based design studio Kotak Design were contacted to design a new Indian restaurant inspired by the Hindu calendar. Their overall vision was to create a connected space that portrayed a symbolic association with the food. Thus enabling a positive synergy between brand, venue and culinary experience to make Ritu’s restaurant concept a reality. We go above and beyond the usual environmental and sustainability standards, and have many third party accreditations. In short, all of our timber (whether floors or wall cladding) follow the UK Timber Regulations as standard, which verifies that all of our timber is legally harvested. All of our floors are also SVOC free and have low VOC emissions. SVOCs are pollutants at the molecular level which are emitted from synthetic man-made materials such as LVT, vinyl and plastics.
